In addition, before a contractor can be listed with us, they are required to meet certain additional criteria and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Prior to listing any contractor, Randall Pros verifies that the contractor has a minimum 1+ year business license (which matches their business address), as well as a contractor's license (if required - as issued by the Secretary of State), $1M General Liability Insurance and GA minimum Comprehensive Insurance in force at the time they were listed. However, Randall Pros only confirms these licenses and insurances each year thereafter via a renewed verbal agreement with the contractor/company, we do not request documents to be sent after the first year.

HELPFUL TIPS TO DISCUSS WITH CONTRACTORS!

As you are preparing to engage with contractors for your project, be sure to review our tips below to ensure you get some of the important matters answered up-front.

For instance, be sure to inquire about:

Ask for and contact at least two customer references from that contractor.

Be sure to ask all contractors that you interview about references. You want to get and contact at least two references from previous clients they performed work for. Also ask if before/after photos of those references can be viewed as well.

Ask how long the contractor has worked in your area.

It may be essential that the contractors you hire, be familiar with local building codes. Specific codes can change from County to County, so familiarity with local building codes is vitally important.

Ensure the contractor has General Liability & Workman's Compensation insurance (If It Is Required By The State).

A critical piece of information that many homeowners forget, is to ensure that the contractor you hire has the proper insurances and that they are in force. General Liability covers the property of the homeowner while Workman's Compensation covers the workers on the homeowner's site. You want to be sure that all contractors have the proper insurance and that it remains in force throughout your project timeline, and additionally that it is within acceptable limits to you.

Be sure to get a signed contract/construction agreement.

A very important point you want to be sure of, is to ask the contractor that you will be using, for a signed contract/construction agreement for services and any installation(s) involved. Having this agreement will help in the event things do not work out to your expectations/satisfaction.

Be sure that the contractor you hire still has valid licenses before work is performed.

YOU are responsible to verify that the contractor you hire has a valid & current business license as well as a valid & current contractor's license (if required) for the project you are wanting the contractor to do. Randall Brothers ensures this at the time the contractor is listed on the Randall Pros website. Each year thereafter we only ask the contractor if these licenses are still in force, we do ask for updated copies for confirmation. YOU will want to confirm these via a handheld copy before you hire, to ensure they have not expired.
